Carps & Dragons is one of those games that screams quality. I am surprised at how good this Nintendo 3DS downloadable game is. Carps & Dragons is such a simple and easy concept that Abylight fleshed out to the extreme. Families can play Arcade, Challenge and Fishtris.

The Arcade mode in Carps & Dragons is all about getting enough points to progress to the next level. There are nasty animals like sharks, crabs, and more that will get in your way. The Challenge mode in Carps & Dragons is where you complete challenges to reveal portions of pictures. Finally Fishtris is about getting so many of the same color of fish in a row.

Carps & Dragons looks great - especially in 3D. A shark can grab your guy and his arms and legs hang out, or a bomb can blow up in your face. That is the general extent to the cartoon violence in Carps & Dragons. Fish vanish once you sling them into your net.

Games on Nintendo systems have a certain feel to them. Carps & Dragons has that feel. From the modes, to the game play this feels like a game that belongs on a Nintendo system. There are fresh and fun animations, tongue in cheek humor, and plenty of fish to catch.

The music in Carps & Dragons enhances the fun and fresh feeling. I enjoyed listening to the music. I enjoyed the special effect sounds. I enjoyed the warning sounds for the various critters that would get in my way. Carps & Dragons is going to be a sleeper hit.

I hope families wake up to Carps & Dragons on the Nintendo 3DS and enjoy it. This hand held video game is good clean fun that is safe for the entire family. Carps & Dragons impressed me greatly, and honestly it takes something special in the industry to impress Family Friendly Gaming anymore.
