Cities XL Platinum
SCORE: 84
City simulators have become all the rage
recently. They are all over the video game news lately. The latest game
to connect with the Family Friendly Gaming Nation is Cities XL Platinum.
This Personal Computer city builder game is an interesting game for
families.
I recommend all families try the tutorial before trying to play Cities
XL Platinum. The biggest reason is learning how to connect your new city
to another city. That is the first goal a player must perform before
they can do anything else. The easy way is to connect a road to the edge
of the game play area.
Speaking of game play areas in Cities XL Platinum, there are multiple
different kinds of areas players can choose from. I love the diversity
in this section of Cities XL Platinum. There are also multiple different
areas, and buildings players can build. The longer a game goes on, the
more options that become available.
The tutorial in Cities XL Platinum is fantastic. It is also easily
skip-able for those who do not want to play through it. The buildings
look good in Cities XL Platinum. The various landscapes also look
fantastic. I enjoy watching the buildings go up after I picked what kind
of zoning it should be.
Families will definitely get their moneys worth out of Cities XL
Platinum. Cities can grow to insane levels in Cities XL Platinum.
Multiple family members can have their own cities. I am thankful I was
able to play and review Cities XL Platinum on the PC. I hope to see
sequels to this franchise in future years.
Cities XL Platinum is easier to get into than SimCity in my opinion. It
is also friendlier to families in almost every regard.
