Class of Heroes II
SCORE: 58
Class of Heroes II is for a select group
of gamers. The hardcore RPG fan who takes things very slowly, and work
through games meticulously. There are fans of this game play style in
the video game industry. How do I know? Class of Heroes II is fan funded
and supported. They put their money where their mouths were.
The bright and colorful look to Class of Heroes II is nice to see in
this kind of a game. The majority of the characters in this hand held
dungeon crawler are dressed moderately and conservatively. Which is a
real shock, and a welcome surprise. Attacks are shown in the form of
weapons striking the enemies. Some enemies are blacked out at the start
of battles.
Class of Heroes II has some of the strangest sounds of any JRPG this
reviewer has ever played. There are a variety of sounds in the dungeons.
Few of them are very settling. In fact most of these sounds will make
the hair on the back of your neck rise. Many of the tried and true
character types are found in Class of Heroes II - the happy, the stern,
the alcoholic, the rule breakers, and so on.
Older members of the family can choose from a variety of different
races. This comes into play when you decide to create your own
characters - who will probably die early and often. That is until you
get the feel for this game, and figure out how to do things like save.
Which can be done literally anywhere, as long as you press the right
button.
The longer I played Class of Heroes II the more I appreciated it. It can
be a tough downloadable game to play. The challenge is up there. If
anything can go wrong in Class of Heroes II it will go wrong. If you
take a cautious approach and head back to town after any mishap, then
you should progress along just fine.
There is a spiritual aspect to Class of Heroes II. Most of the teachings
in that regard are from an Eastern mindset. Little in Class of Heroes II
goes along with the majority belief set in Western culture. I wonder
what kinds of game Class of Heroes II would be if it incorporated
Western religious beliefs.
So if you are ready for a challenge in a dungeon crawler, are over
thirteen years old, like JRPG's, and you have a Playstation Vita or a
Playstation Portable then you may want to check out Class of Heroes II.
Expect to grind a lot in Class of Heroes II. Things can go bad in any
battle in this game too – keep your guard up at all times.
