We have not played a good roller coaster simulator builder in some time here at Family Friendly Gaming. That is until Coaster Creator 3D on the Nintendo 3DS. This downloadable hand held video game is intense. At first it can be a bit overwhelming as well. Especially if you do not pay attention to important little details.

When we first started playing Coaster Creator 3D we got stuck. The reason was we were not thinking in 3D. You might be wondering how we could play a 3D game and not think in 3D. Here is the deal, when you are editing a track to make it go through certain orbs - you might miss how to move the track vertically. At least I did.

What is the simple solution in Coaster Creator 3D? First actually read the help information. It is in the game, but not forced upon the player. It all starts with the start button - to find the help. From there it is all about the D-pad. Pressing different directions moves the view to a different camera angle. At that point you realize how intense and amazing Coaster Creator 3D is.

The Career mode in Coaster Creator 3D is definitely cool. There are neat things to earn and unlock. The real fun comes from the Sandbox. You build the roller coaster from a wide array of content. Then you can take your Miis for a wonderful joy ride through your created park.

Parks can be shared between friends in Coaster Creator 3D with the QR Code feature. So you can share your creations with others. That is after you are content with your creation. Hours can easily drain away playing around with the Editor in Coaster Creator 3D.

The graphics look good, especially considering how much we rotate things around. The music brought a smile to my face, and helped me embrace the fun of this hand held game. The 3D is awesome, and helps keep the intensity at a very high level. Coaster Creator 3D is the best roller coaster creator on the Nintendo 3DS hands down.
