Darts Up 3D
SCORE: 76
I will hand it to EnoyUp Games they tried something
new with Darts Up 3D. At least in terms of the control scheme. Video
games based on darts have been around for many years now. Nothing new
there. Using the gyroscope to line up your shot without any guide? That
is a new one for me.
How do you throw the dart? Tapping on the screen would have been the
most logical thing. Here is where Darts Up 3D gets interesting. Players
thrust the circle pad forward to throw the dart. Then you can see how
well you sized things up. Or how poorly you did with lining it up.
Players then make adjustments for their second and third throws based on
the first one. Man, a practice first shot would have been really groovy.
The 3D effects look really groovy in Darts Up 3D. They are totally far
out man. Lining up the gyroscope with the dart board can lead to double
images though. The music is pleasing to the ear drums. At least my ear
drums were relaxed and ready to focus on hitting that bulls eye.
Darts Up 3D comes with Classic, X01, and Arcade modes. There is also a
spot for Ranking, and Download play. Darts Up 3D is best played with
multiple members of the family. Arcade mode is tough. The first level is
to get two hundred points in only three rounds. That means nine darts to
get two hundred points.
Darts Up 3D may be the most realistic dart board game on the Nintendo
3DS. This downloadable game captures the difficulty of playing darts.
Mii characters are used, so families will not find offensive content in
Darts Up 3D. I enjoyed my time with this hand held game.
