Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey
SCORE: 79
Fishdom
H2O Hidden Odyssey is extremely impressive to look at in 3D. I love
seeing the fish swim around at different layers of depth. Playing the
hidden object game on the bottom screen of the Nintendo 3DS is less
impressive. I understand why it was done - the touch screen.
Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey shakes things up for the player by having
them look for different kinds of things on the screens. It may rotate
three different items, have a huge list, or ask for so many of certain
kind of items. Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey allows a few mistakes before
punishing the player.
How does Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey punish the player for tapping all
over the screen? Fish and their bubbles will swim across the screen
obstructing your view. Before you know it you can not see a thing and
tapping on the correct objects does not work thanks to those bubbles.
The aquatic music and special effects in Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey fit
the theme of this hidden object game masterfully. This hand held game
contains an environmentalists belief set that it passes along to the
players. I rolled my eyes a couple of times during the dialogue.
My biggest issue with Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey is the collision
detection. I would tap directly on certain items and they were not
found. I would tap somewhere else on the object and it would find it.
Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey is certainly not kind to players in terms of
making contact.
What is our purpose in Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey? The purpose is to
earn money by finding the hidden objects. That money is spent on fish,
beauty items, and comfort items. Once all three of those categories are
at 100% we unlock another fish tank. The farther along you get the more
expensive everything is.
There are very few hidden object games on the Nintendo 3DS, so it is
nice to see Fishdom H2O Hidden Odyssey. This is an interesting franchise
that mixes an aquarium with the hidden object game play. Fishdom H2O
Hidden Odyssey is set at a fair price for a downloadable hand held game.
