Isla Dorada Episode 1 The Sands of Ephranis

Isla Dorada Episode 1 The Sands of Ephranis is the most streamlined hidden object game I have ever run across. I beat this iPad app in one hour to two hours. There are four chapters and then this game is done. Mysteries are left open, and the player is left to hope for a sequel to understand.

This female Indiana Jones type finds a little gold statue in an expedition. She is then transported to an island where all the people know her name and claim to have met her before. How odd. This is the major plot string that is left wide open. I have my suspicions and they involve time travel.

Isla Dorada Episode 1 The Sands of Ephranis feels like it is half of a game in terms of its very short length. The little cut scenes between the four chapters (and at the game ending) are done artistically. The visuals look like pyramids, huts, islanders, etc. Some of the characters could have used some more clothing.

The music in Isla Dorada Episode 1 The Sands of Ephranis is eerie. I wound up turning the music off because of how it made my skin crawl. Plus others around me asked what kind of a game was I playing that had that haunting music? I decided to avoid any real world issues.

Isla Dorada Episode 1 The Sands of Ephranis is filled with false gods that many of the characters worship. There are also images of skulls, bones, mummies, and spiritual beings. This is not the kind of a game I would let my kids play - mainly due to the spiritual content.

Isla Dorada Episode 1 The Sands of Ephranis is really heavy on the hidden object part. Which is fine since it is so easy to find the items. I tapped all over a screen and almost always got it down to one or two items. Then I could use the hint. If you tap the screen too often without finding anything the screen will break a little bit. Wait a few seconds and it will reset.
