Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters Dragonstrike

There are a couple of us here at Family Friendly Gaming eagerly anticipating the return of Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters. This has come in the form of Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters Dragonstrike on DVD. The Shout Factory is continuing this show with another five episode DVD.

The episodes on Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters Dragonstrike are Into The Fire Part 1, Into the Fire Part 2, Heavenly Creatures, The Rising Part 1, and The Rising Part 2. The core of this disc is powerful artifacts that control all the monsters from a certain nation. Like a fire sword commands the fire creatures.

The artifacts in Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters Dragonstrike do more than just control all of them. They can be used to call forth super sized, and super powerful monsters - the Monarchs. These Monarchs can be used to tear down the veil between the two worlds. In essence merging the two worlds.

One of the big problems with Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters Dragonstrike is there are gaps. The bad guys are turned away in one episode, and then in the next they were successful and have all the artifacts. The violence is generally creature on creature. They will vanish when they are damaged too much.

Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters Dragonstrike is more action packed than the first DVD. More battling and more peril. It also spends much more time in the monster world. So we learn about how things work in that realm. I enjoyed getting to see what goes on in their world when they are not pulled into battle in the real world.

Family is shown as important in Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters Dragonstrike. Which is why when there is deception referenced or we actually witness it - well its a real downer. Kaijudo Rise of the Duel Masters Dragonstrike shows a lot of progress in character development. As well as friendship.
