Kamikaze Pigs

Kamikaze Pigs

Kamikaze Pigs is exactly like what it sounds like. We have pigs flying around in helicopters. We blow them up and they crash into the troops on the ground. If they hit another helicopter then the death and destruction will cascade. Depending on the vehicle there will be different reactions. Some will shoot a missile, others a machine gun, etc.

Kamikaze Pigs is the first app I have ever played that requested I put my age in before I start playing. I have played and reviewed Kamikaze Pigs before the age rating was officially released by Apple so I am unclear as to what it will receive in their rating. I would guess a twelve years old and older rating.

My eyes spied some quirks in Kamikaze Pigs. After every level we have to go through multiple screens before playing the next level. One of them is the upgrades menu which is a short hop to the in app purchases. I do not know if this was by design. It was nice to be reminded of upgrades, but every time was excessive.

Getting the right chain reaction can mean the differences between success and failure in Kamikaze Pigs. I also noticed certain levels are easier after certain upgrades have been purchased. Surrendering is an option in any level the player fails at. All of the money earned is kept which is a nice way to build up for the upgrades.

There are diverse and varied opinions on Kamikaze Pigs here at Family Friendly Gaming. Some love going through level after level, and then meeting the bosses. Others are not into all of the violence, explosions, and death in Kamikaze Pigs.  There are also those who do not like the concept of suicide bombers being glorified in any way, shape or form.

When I started to play Kamikaze Pigs, I thought it may have some connection to Angry Birds. I was way off base though. Yes I meant to use that military pun. I thought it was rather clever. Kamikaze Pigs is not for everyone. I would suggest only the older members of the family.
