Linsanity has taken the sports world by storm. What astounds me is how a documentary movie based on Jeremy Lin was being worked on during the time of his major break through. It is amazing how God worked all of that out. I knew of Jeremy Lin, but did not know much of his back story so this documentary movie on DVD is marvelous to experience.
I appreciate seeing all of the home movies and see all of the things he went through. Linsanity is a fantastic documentary of his past, and present. Jeremy had to fight for everything every step of the way. The worst part is he had to face racism in so many places. Why? Because he is Asian.
I was raised in the Pacific Northwest so I am well versed on the racial tensions between Blacks and Asians. I saw it first hand. Being part Cherokee and part Caucasian I comprehend how so many feel about racism. I also have an aunt who is Korean. I know of issues many Asians face. I find racism sad. I wish more people did not divide based on race.
The moves and talent exhibited in Linsanity is amazing. Any fan of basketball will appreciate what Jeremy Lin can do. They will also appreciate how he clawed his way into the NBA. What is sick is - with his talent colleges were not interested in him. With all of his talent - pro teams did not want to give him a chance let alone minutes.
Linsanity shows Jeremy made mistakes. He learned from them. He grew, developed and got better. He learns more from his mistakes than from his successes. He saw God's hand in all that he went through. He ignores the racism he faces. His faith is accurately represented in Linsanity, and it shows where his strength comes from.
Parts of Linsanity are raw. That means there is some language millions will find offensive. The language generally shows the ugliness of the hearts of so many people. People who do not have Jesus in their hearts. People who need God in their lives. It is my hope and prayer that Linsanity will open some of their eyes.
The home
movies of his past are awesome. The bonus features of Linsanity is the
Kickstarter and Behind the Scenes. This DVD can be very powerful.
Especially seeing all of Jeremy Lin's struggles and records he broke. He
garnered attention just like Tim Tebow. For some reason he was embraced
by the media.
