Mario and Donkey Kong Minis on the Move
SCORE: 83
It has been some time since Family
Friendly Gaming played a Mario and Donkey Kong Minis game. Many of us
here missed the Lemmings kind of puzzle game play, the wind up
characters, and the mind boggling puzzles. The franchise is back in
Mario and Donkey Kong Minis on the Move on the Nintendo 3DS, and its a
little different.
I started to play Mario and Donkey Kong Minis on the Move and instantly
thought about games like PipeMania. You know the games with pipes that
have water flowing through them? You place the pipes so the water can go
from point A to point B. Do it fast enough to complete the level. This
hand held game is in the same ball park.
Mario and Donkey Kong Minis on the Move does quite a few things
different though. It all depends on which mode you play. Are you playing
with the wind up Mario's, Princess Peaches, Toads, or Donkey Kong's?
They each have different modes and their modes play differently.
Some of the concepts players will run into are tiles that can be
rotated, tiles that can be moved around on the level, keys to unlock the
star spot, and more. Mario and Donkey Kong Minis on the Move requires
the family member to be quick on their feet. Plotting the course while
they are on the path is not the easiest thing to do.
The graphics are okay, and the sounds are nice in Mario and Donkey Kong
Minis on the Move. The amount of levels and replay is astronomical.
There are also mini games players can enjoy. Most of them involve
launching mini Mario's at something. One involves rotating a platform up
and down. The final one is part launcher and part rotational tool.
Mario and Donkey Kong Minis on the Move will remind you to take a break
if you have been playing too long. Which is important because Mario and
Donkey Kong Minis on the Move can be mentally exhausting. If you are
creative then you can create your own intelligently designed levels.
There is quite a bit of debate in the industry over Mario and Donkey
Kong Minis on the Move. Some people are not into the new game play style
in this Nintendo 3DS hand held game. I miss the old game play style. At
the same time I can appreciate what Nintendo has done with Mario and
Donkey Kong Minis on the Move. They tried something new and fresh.
