Mini Ninjas

Mini Ninjas has become an iconic franchise touching upon many different systems. I believe within my heart of hearts that Mini Ninjas will be appearing on more systems in the future. This is a fun little app that sits down quite respectfully and honorably in the runner category.

Don't know what a runner is? Mini Ninjas is one of those games where your guy is constantly running. Obstacles come your way and you jump over them. Enemies come your way, and you attack them with your sword (or other weapon depending on the character). There are goals to attain, and once you do you can level up.

Mini Ninjas on the iPhone/iPod Touch takes the characters (good and bad) from the franchise and shrinks them into this app. That does not mean they look horrible. In fact there are some neat things done graphically. You do not have to attack the enemies; instead you can choose to jump over them. You might then jump into some other hazard like spikes or a fire.

Mini Ninjas contains a department store of unlockable content, and items to use. Some items let you get back up after falling and making a mistake. Others can change the look of your character. True to the Mini Ninjas franchise, we free trapped animals. The enemy characters have imprisoned them in little cages. So hitting them frees them.

The wall run is fickle. Sometimes it worked perfectly, and other times it would not work at all. This usually led to an instant death. I believe this could be fixed by porting Mini Ninjas over to the Playstation Vita, or Nintendo 3DS. Mini Ninjas would improve in terms of game play thanks to buttons and a circle (or D-pad).

Families need to be cognizant of video game addiction with Mini Ninjas. This game can get in your head. Since there are so many different things to do, you may want to keep playing time after time. Before you know it you are late for work, and lose your job. Please practice restraint.
