Motorbike

Family Friendly Gaming Nation is seeing a rash of motorcycle side scrolling stunt filled get to the finish line style of games. These games have crazy jumps, loops, and diverse environments. The latest game in this trend is Motorbike on the Playstation 3. Huge models are one of the key selling points in this $15.00 downloadable home console video game.

Motorbike is hard. In fact this may be one of the most difficult games I have ever played. Thankfully baKno Games was kind to players in terms of which level you will play. I could play any of the eighty levels whenever I felt like it. Which is important because some of these levels are impossible. At least I could never figure out how to beat them.

The best part about Motorbike is the level editor. You can make your own levels and race around in them. Plus you can share them with your friends online. And you can download tracks from others online as well. So there is plenty to play and do in Motorbike on the Playstation 3.

The controls in Motorbike are a mixed bag. I could do some amazing things on one wheel. I could do some awesome things on two wheels. I could die when my rider ran into anything. It  is really easy to land on his head, back, knock him off, and more. He lays there really stiff too. The lack of animation in the crashes felt weird. It is also easy to get stuck in a variety of places in Motorbike – hence the eject button.

The biggest problem I have with Motorbike is the confusing physics engine. I could do the same thing ten times in a row, and get a couple of different outcomes. I never could figure out how to duplicate certain things in Motorbike. Certain levels have a design that makes them impossible. Or at least they felt impossible. There are too many places to get stuck too.

The danger families need to be aware of in Motorbike is addiction. Few games will create an emotional reaction in my life. Motorbike made me angry. Especially when I tried a level fifty times and just kept dying. I wanted to beat it. Motorbike gets in your head and I eventually had to turn the system off and walk away.
