My Western Horse 3D
SCORE: 76
I get into
horse nurturing video games. Especially the ones on the Nintendo 3DS.
There is something so much fun about playing with a digital horse on the
hand held. Treva Entertainment has a history of making great horse games
for children of all ages – including my age.
I will be blunt, open, and transparent. I did not like My Western Horse
3D. For me that was a shocking revelation. I had to figure out why.
There are a couple of things going on in My Western Horse 3D that did
not sit properly in the saddle for me. First off the tilting of the
screen in 3D. The second was the lack of 3D in so many of the
grooming/talking screens.
Using the gyroscope with 3D at the same time leads to migraines. The
Nintendo 3DS screen needs to be aligned with the eyes at the perfect
angle or double images are seen. So moving the screen around and trying
to keep your eyes lined up were a problem.
The controls in My Western Horse 3D are also way too touchy. I failed
the first practice exercise so many times that I stopped counting. The
faces of the characters looked a little off to me. The horses look
fantastic in My Western Horse 3D. Which is neat to see.
My Western Horse 3D is a little bit of a different direction for Treva
Entertainment in terms of style, story line and game play. I personally
prefer how their previous horse games looked, sounded, and felt. I hope
future games go back to the light hearted nature, and less realism.
