Need for Speed Most Wanted U
SCORE: 72
Need for Speed Most
Wanted U is the slickest looking Wii U title I have seen. The graphics
immediately stand out as a major highlight to this home console racing
game. Need for Speed Most Wanted U can be purchased in a retail store or
downloaded from the Nintendo eShop.
The goal of Need for Speed Most Wanted U is to become the most wanted.
Players do this by crashing into things - like police cars and then
evading the police. In fact we are rewarded for getting away clean, and
punished by being caught. The more you prolong a chase the more police
cars will participate. Which means the noose starts to tighten.
Cars can be found all over the open world of Need for Speed Most Wanted
U. It is extremely easy to swap cars in this Wii U game as well. Color
changing stations are all around the world of Need for Speed Most Wanted
U. Go through one to repair the look of a vehicle and to possibly change
the color.
The online mode is where multiplayer is possible in Need for Speed Most
Wanted U. In the offline mode a second family member is able to assist.
One uses a Wii Remote to drive and the other uses the Wii U Gamepad to
distract the police, carve a path to victory and more. The presentation
in Need for Speed Most Wanted U is top notch.
Music is playing in Need for Speed Most Wanted U, but I turned it down
because it was not to my personal tastes. The cars sound nice, and the
crashes are amplified. I do not mind an amplified crash here and there,
but I was crashing all the time in Need for Speed Most Wanted U. Part of
this is design and part is controls.
Some cars in Need for Speed Most Wanted U control exceptionally well.
Many others are much more difficult to use. It is too easy to crash into
the numerous spots that are complete instant stops. Barriers between on
and off ramps, pillars between bridges and more. The difficulty in Need
for Speed Most Wanted U is also pretty high.
Morally and ethically I see real issues with smashing into the police
cars, and then running away from them. It teaches us to leave messes for
others, and expect them to clean them up. It also teaches us to avoid
taking responsibility for our mistakes. Finally to find humor in pain
and suffering we cause.
