Paper Sorcerer
SCORE: 58
Do you
believe dreams comes true? For some people they do. The existence of
Family Friendly Gaming is one of those dreams that have come partially
true. Games like Paper Sorcerer (received crowd source funding) is
another example of a dream coming true.
I have to get one thing out of the way. Paper Sorcerer is ugly. Some may
call it artistic with its black and white graphics. To me it is a
headache just waiting to happen. Plus your eyes are all messed up when
you stop playing and see the real world. A world in shadows is not my
thing. I like to see color.
Paper Sorcerer is shocking in the story line. We play the role of a bad
guy throw in a prison dimension. We recruit other criminals on our path
to murder all the heroes. What mentally sane person wants to play the
bad guys killing off the good guys?
Being bad guys means things like bad language. Characters like vampires
and werewolves are available to the player. Spiritual elements are also
found in Paper Sorcerer. Witches, wizards, ghosts, and magic are a deep
part of Paper Sorcerer on the Personal Computer. There is also a spirit
realm players can visit.
There are moral choices in Paper Sorcerer. Dead characters in Paper
Sorcerer still gain experience - which is a nice innovation. The first
person role playing action can take some getting used to if you are not
familiar with its nuances. Enemies can be seen ahead of time unless the
shadows of the game get in the way.
