Rayman Legends
SCORE: 85
What can I
say about Rayman Legends that has not already been said? This game was
originally designed to be a Wii U exclusive launch title. Although many
of us at Family Friendly Gaming thought it would eventually make it to
the Playstation 3, Personal Computer, and Xbox 360. Some even thought it
would appear on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
No official word on a PS4 or Xbox One version of Rayman Legends. Which
is fine because it is fantastic on the current existing home consoles.
The first thing that sticks out about Rayman Legends is the amazing
attention to detail in the graphics. This is one beautiful looking game.
Rayman Legends does contain violence. We can punch and kick the enemy
characters. They will poof out of existence when we do. Rayman can also
take damage and blow up like a balloon until he pops out of existence.
He will quickly respawn nearby making death in this game a mild
inconvenience at worst. There is also enticement to lust images.
I love it when games quickly show what needs to be done to get through a
certain area. Rayman Legends does this with things like wall jumping,
and having your flying frog friend cut ropes to clear the way.
Thankfully there are few skills to master. The ones that are here are
easy to pick up.
As players progress through Rayman Legends they unlock additional
heroes. They can quickly and easily swap to those different heroes if
they so choose. Four family members can enjoy Rayman Legends at the same
time. Families can work together, or play some of the multiplayer mini
games.
I enjoyed much of the music in Rayman Legends. It ranges in terms of
styles and sounds. I believe it makes Rayman Legends more approachable
by different groups of people. In my opinion Rayman Legends is worth the
price of admission.
Rayman Legends set itself up to be playable by different skill sets.
Most casual gamers can blow through many of the levels. Some will be
challenging for them. The hardcore gamers can work on collecting all the
different items, getting perfect scores on a level and more.
