Real Heroes Firefighter 3D
SCORE: 70
Real Heroes Firefighter 3D is a port of the Wii game Real Heroes Firefighter. What is the major differences? The biggest one is the Nintendo 3DS version is in 3D. The 3D is one of the saving graces of Real Heroes Firefighter 3D too.
The visuals are bland and look old in Real Heroes Firefighter 3D. They did not look that fresh on the Wii when Family Friendly Gaming reviewed that version, so you can imagine how they look now. To be fair less is expected on the hand helds. With that said I was expecting some kind of a graphical upgrade in the 3DS version.
The voices in Real Heroes Firefighter 3D are really low. I had the Nintendo 3DS volume turned all the way up and I still had problems hearing what the other characters were saying. Which was always important to what needed to be done next. Thankfully there are usually arrows and written instructions as well. I enjoyed hearing the commands from the different characters - when I could hear them.
The controls in Real Heroes Firefighter 3D are the biggest area for improvement. They are sluggish and do not have an intelligent design. We walk around with the circular joystick, and we look around by moving the screen. Real Heroes Firefighter 3D is in essence a first person shooter where we put out fires. There is violence as our character and others can die due to fire related issues.
Some of the different tools take some practice to learn how to use. I also found that I had to crouch to interact with certain things. I could not look down at them and interact. I had to crouch and then the interact button came up. This is a mild complaint though.
Real Heroes Firefighter 3D has so many
things going for it that its a shame it did not go the extra mile. The
idea of playing a firefighter is an awesome one. Putting out fires and
saving people is extremely commendable. Real Heroes Firefighter 3D is
also one shot and your done. Few gamers will want to go back through
this game. Replays come from making mistakes and having to repeat from
the last check point.
