SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition
SCORE: 90
It is so easy to get cynical in the video
game industry. We have to deal with selfish people all the time. We have
to deal with constant plugging, and promoting of average or less than
average products. We have to deal with all these bad attitudes from a
variety of sources. So it is nice to find a ray of shining light.
SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition is my ray of shining light today. It is a
Nintendo 3DS game that sells on the Nintendo eShop for $2.99. Let me
stop everything right now and tell you: "YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH
OUT OF THIS GAME!" It is a simple game that is a lot of fun.
I thought long and hard about how to quantify, qualify, and describe
SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition. Sorry I could not think of another 'Q' word in
that instance. If you have one please let me know. Think about being
inside a pipe. You can move to the left, or right. You can also
completely go around in a circle. Weeeeeeeee!
Whizzing around inside a pipe going in circles sounds like fun right?
Okay I may have lost some of you there. But before you leave and write
off SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition, let me explain what else is going on. There
are blocks in SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition. Players must move around to avoid
them. The faster you go the harder it is to slow down and go the other
direction.
SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition does not stop there. As you progress the pipe
opens up to a half pipe. Then it will go flat, and then it will turn
back into a pipe, except we are now on the outside. It will reverse this
process and bring us back into the pipe. This is where things get
interesting because it is easy to fall off the edges.
Run into too many blocks, or fall off the edges and its game over. You
will want to retry though - trust me on this. SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition is
addicting. It is also quite entertaining and fun. The 3D effects are
neat, and the visuals are fantastic. The music kept me motivated to
avoid the blocks.
Now that I think about it, SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition is a first person
runner. It may be the first time I have played a first person runner
before. The quality of SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition is above what we find in
millions of apps on the iOS platform. No wonder so many companies are
moving development and publishing over to the Nintendo 3DS.
