Super Mario 3D World

There are certain games in the video game industry that I just inhale. I play level after level enjoying the experience from the beginning until the end. I look out for secrets, and find all of the stars that I can. Super Mario 3D World is one of those games. There is so much content in this Wii U game.

If you were skeptical about the Wii U, Super Mario 3D World is another game that will change your mind. This home console experience will move families off the fence and onto the Wii U home console system. This game is fun for one person up to four. The experience changes depending on how many family members are playing too.

The two coolest new things in Super Mario 3D World are the cat suit, and the cannon suit. In the first we are granted the skills of little kitty cats. Meaning we can climb up walls, trees, and swipe at enemies. The cannon suit fires red cannon balls continuously. Which is very handy in enemy congested areas.

If you die too many times in a level then a super powerful power-up is available. That way families can beat levels they are stuck on. Families can also watch runs by other players to see how they defeated certain levels. Messages can also be posted on Miiverse related to this home console game.

Super Mario 3D World is sold in stores, and is downloadable on the Nintendo eShop for the Wii U. The downloadable size is a little under two gigs. I find it is important to mention that so families can verify their hard drives have enough space.

The world map in Super Mario 3D World is really cool. Players can run all around it and levels. No longer are we constrained to just one path. There are mini boss levels that players must beat to progress to additional levels. Do not fret because they are generally easy.

Super Mario 3D World pays homage to past Super Mario video games with tank boss levels, train boss levels, and many of the known world types. There are also new things and areas like ants, and piranha plants that can vine around the levels. Super Mario 3D World has the perfect mix of new with old.

Super Mario 3D World builds properly. First the levels are really easy. Then they start to get more challenging. Before you know it you will be dying and fussing at the television screen (or the Wii U Gamepad). Speaking of the Wii U Gamepad - there are certain levels where players must use it to progress. Which works better than I thought it would.

All in all Super Mario 3D World is a solid Mario title that families can enjoy. Whether you play by yourself or with others, you will be collecting stamps, green stars, and freeing these poor Sprixies. There are houses to visit, and slot machines to use. Although I am not really big on the slot machines. Cherries producing multiple Marios is a neat addition to the franchise.
