The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec

What do you get when you mix a headstrong lady, the year of our Lord 1912, and a pterodactyl? The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec is what comes out on Blu-ray and DVD. This French film has been dubbed with English speaking voices. So do not expect the mouth movements and voices to match.

I did not mind the verbal miscues in The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec. The story is what will draw viewers in. They have a strong female character who dresses appropriately but is shown as stronger than the male characters. Especially the police officers. She does throw herself on multiple men. Context is very important, and you have to see it understand what is going on.

There is this decrepit old man who can bring the dead back to the land of the living. Adele needs him to restore the doctor of a Pharaoh. Why? Because she believes this doctor can bring her comatose sister back to her normal form. I will let you watch it to see what unravels in that plan.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec has humor in it that all ages can enjoy. Certain plot points are a bit too convenient, but most of this movie is done tongue in cheek. Kids enjoy the humor of the jail, and of course the pterodactyl. My hubby enjoyed some of the music. Although he has no idea what they are saying since it is in French. At least I think that is French.

There are a few neat and cool bonus features in The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec. There is a making of featurrette, deleted scenes, and music featurrette. The deleted scenes are some of my personal favorite. Those sisters have a couple of issues that need to be worked out.

I encourage our readers to watch The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec all the way through the end credits. At least the first set of ending credits. Why? There is a scene from the movie shown after the first series of end credits roll. They are pretty good, and wrap up a loose plot string.
