The Impossible Line
SCORE: 43
The Impossible Line is the classic example of what is wrong with the free app industry on the iPhone. This app has advertisements on it constantly. Family Friendly Gaming should have been paid just to spend any time with this app. Every minute I spent on The Impossible Line felt wasted.
The idea behind The Impossible Line is actually interesting. You draw a chalkboard line from one point on the small portion of the screen devoted to the game, over to the ending point. Easy right? Not exactly. You can not touch the edge of the screen or other objects.
I can avoid objects on the screen
like a champ. The Impossible Line throws a nasty wrinkle into the mix.
Once you touch the screen, the objects go away. You have to memorize
where things are. If you fail, it means even more advertisements to
anger you - and the opportunity to retry.
The frequency of the advertisements in The Impossible Line is maddening.
I got angry with The Impossible Line pretty quickly thanks to the insane
amount of ads. I want to pay ninety-nine cents, and play the game
without all the brainwashing ads constantly in my face. Is that too much
to ask?
The Impossible Line looks like a
chalkboard, and it sounds like a chalkboard. It seems to me more effort
was put into all the ads on the page than the actual game itself. I
expect The Impossible Line to be yet another get rich quick scheme that
will anger users and fall flat on its face.
