Wipeout Create & Crash
SCORE: 76
Wipeout
Create & Crash is a major improvement to the Wipeout video games. It is
still based on the television show, but now you can create your very own
levels. Families are going to love the creativity of that. I know we did
here at Family Friendly Gaming.
I love being able to skip the commentators in Wipeout Create & Crash.
They are downright mean and vicious with their comments at times. I know
they are trying to be funny. But they do so at the expense of your
mistakes. It tears people down instead of building them up.
What can make the comments even more annoying is the questionable
controls. Sometimes getting whacked by objects helped, and other times
they hindered. If you get stuck in multiplayer versus mode then you have
to quit. No three strikes and you move on to the next obstacle like the
main episodes.
Some of the episodes in Wipeout Create & Crash contain branching
courses. So you can decide if you want to take the high road or the low
road. Want my advice? Go high. If you fall, you have a chance of landing
on the low road. If you fall on the low road then its a bath for your
character.
The biggest selling point to Wipeout Create & Crash is being able to
build your own courses. Certain obstacles cost in game credit so playing
some levels is suggested. Or make an easy course, and then go over to
the episodes section and play it. One oddity is if you test a level that
you are working on you play it with the controller.
Wipeout Create & Crash accurately represents the television show.
Families can now set up courses as they see fit. You can make an
insanely difficult course and share with others. Or you can make an easy
course to build up your in game money. Technically you could do both of
those things.
Families who play Wipeout Create & Crash on the Xbox 360 Kinect will get
exercise. Which is awesome. Some people had problems controlling Wipeout
Create & Crash with the Kinect. At times things worked great, and other
times there were strange glitches. Like jumping forward one foot and
falling into the water. Or reaching out for a ledge in real life and the
on screen character does not. These were intermittent though.
