Ys Memories of Celceta
SCORE: 65
Ys
(pronounced Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees) is one of the longest running role
playing game franchises in the entire industry. It is an action
adventure role playing game like the .hack franchise. Originally it was
similar to the Legend of Zelda franchise, but it has developed
differently over the years.
In recent years the Ys franchise has thrived on the hand held devices.
Mainly the Sony ones. Ys Memories of Celceta is a Playstation Vita game
with all kinds of character, depth, and a fun fantasy world for gamers
to explore. Too bad Ys Memories of Celceta is not on the Nintendo 3DS in
the United States. It could reach a larger audience.
The worst part about Ys Memories of Celceta is it will reach a niche
audience that will either ignore it, or absolutely love it. A young Adol
Christin has always been more interesting than a Link. Sadly he has not
seen mainstream success. Adol may be one of the most under-appreciated
video game characters of all time.
Adol Christin comes out of a forest with no memories and nearly dead. As the game progresses we find his memories and can piece together what happened the last time he was in this massive forest. Not everyone is happy to see Adol a second time. In fact too often he is chastised for doing something he no longer remembers. Let alone why. We also question whether he did those acts or not. I won't spoil anymore.
Ys Memories of Celceta contains violence and blood as characters hack
and slash their way through countless enemies and numerous massive
bosses. There are attire issues as well as enticement to lust issues.
Certain characters have nasty, rude, and disgusting mouths.
There are multiple different systems of religion in Ys Memories of
Celceta. This PS Vita game is similar to the real world in that regard.
Jews and Christians can find some similar beliefs in at least one of the
systems of religion. It is not explored enough to determine if it was
based off of Judaism or Christianity. The concept of sinning is also in
this hand held game.
Ys Memories of Celceta looks beautiful. The music is also exceptional in
Ys Memories of Celceta. The depth of characters and how the story
reveals itself is also magnificent. Expect to spend a few weeks (and
multiple system recharges) to get through this entire game. There is
also content after this hand held game is beaten.
