Zelda A Link Between Worlds
SCORE: 74
The Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS is
the perfect system for a sequel to a Super NES 16-bit video game. Zelda
A Link Between Worlds is one such video game. We revisit this world.
Things have changed somewhat since the last time we were there.
Merging into walls is the new power in Zelda A Link Between Worlds. This
is used to progress through dungeons and to find secrets. It feels
strange in the beginning, but it becomes a neat new game play mechanic.
Being a walking wall painting is funny.
No more finding tools in Zelda A Link Between Worlds. Instead players
will rent them from an odd looking character. You can keep them as long
as you do not die. Once you die he takes them all back. This means you
can quickly acquire every needed tool in the game. Just stay alive or it
gets costly.
There is action adventure violence in Zelda A Link Between Worlds.
Players will hack and slash their way through characters, and bosses
while they play through the two linked world. A variety of tools like
bombs can also damage the enemies.
Zelda A Link Between Worlds is heavy on the religious content. There is
talk of false gods, and multiple witch characters. The witches are
helpful to Link which is the strangest twist on their lengthy history.
There is also magic used in Zelda A Link Between Worlds.
Zelda A Link Between Worlds looks good. Plenty of gloss, polish and
shine in this hand held action adventure role playing video game. The
music is also exceptional. No wonder the Zelda franchise is touring with
an orchestra. The religious element is the only downer.
Zelda fanboys will find plenty of previous Zelda content in Zelda A Link
Between Worlds. This 3DS game does not stray too far from the formula.
It also pays homage to The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past. Long time
Zelda fans will appreciate this as well as the numerous characters that
return. If are looking for a new Zelda game then Zelda A Link Between
Worlds is for you.
