99Seconds
SCORE: 79
The 99 games continue to improve as the years go on. You may remember
99Seconds from the Nintendo DSi. It has now made it to the Wii U.
99Seconds is a downloadable only video game. Families will not be able
to support their local retailers with a physical copy purchase of
99Seconds.
The concept in 99Seconds is really easy to understand. Keep your little
guy on the screen away from all the objects that move around on the
screen. The more you avoid the better. The longer you stay away from
things the higher your score will be.
99Seconds contains two collectibles. The first one is more time (looks
like a black hole). Players only have ninety-nine seconds in 99Seconds.
The more time you can collect the longer you can play. The second little
collectible is these little guys who add to your score.
99Seconds is not the worst looking Wii U title we have seen here at
Family Friendly Gaming. It is also not the best one we have seen. I like
how the colors change in certain areas of 99Seconds. I also like the nod
to other video game franchises.
Even on the easiest setting, 99Seconds is difficult. If you are a casual
gamer, 99Seconds will school you quickly and unmercifully. The one
positive is - each time you take a hit the game slows down for a few
seconds. This can help you get out of trouble.
I am happy to see this franchise continue on. You can not harm anything
in 99Seconds. You can bump into objects with little consequence. Players
can even share their scores online and see how they rank up with other
gamers on the same difficulty setting.
