Anime Pirates
SCORE: 54
Anime
Pirates is a free browser game based off of the One Piece Pirates
franchise. Before you start freaking out, let me explain a few things.
Family Friendly Gaming does not normally review free games. We also do
not normally review browser games. What changed? What is different? We
are being paid to review this game. Which fits into the policy, and fair
reporting for the FTC.
The character models of the characters on the screen are on the small
side. That is until they have conversations. Then giant models of the
characters appear on the screens. Ahem, why are the women wearing so
little clothing? Enticement to lust is being shoved down players throats
in Anime Pirates. I did not even want to read the text. I kept clicking
to get rid of the sin creating images.
I ran into threats from certain characters while I played Anime Pirates.
Rarely were they ever able to carry out their life threatening
statements though. The music is nice. Some is relaxing, and some is
exciting. Which is more than I can say for the battles.
There is a town screen, a map screen, and a battle screen in Anime
Pirates. There are other things like Arenas, and equipment sub screens.
Players click on who they will fight, and watch the battle unravel. No
turn based actions, no focus on the same character and then attack the
others. The characters in Anime Pirates do whatever they want. Which
means I got to watch the same battles in the same order over and over
again. It felt like Groundhogs Day. Just without the ability to make any
changes.
Anime Pirates has a bar, and the ability to upgrade your ship. VIP
members unlock additional content that the free players are not able to
see. The tutorial system in Anime Pirates is fantastic. As long as you
can read, and find the right places to click you will never get lost.
As you progress you will run into different pirates from the show. You
can play Anime Pirates at your own pace on your browser. The loading
screens were frequent, but fast. I personally like a little more meat to
my games. The only thing I lost with Anime Pirates was time. Well and
having to see those women so poorly dressed.
