Arrow Time U
SCORE: 68
The video game industry is becoming a tale of two extremes. There are
the massive games created with huge budgets, and there are the indie
games. Yes there are some games in between. What I have seen this year
is massive, and indie.
Where does Arrow Time U on the Wii U fall into place? This downloadable
only video game for $1.99 fits into the indie side of the industry.
Which means interesting, new, fun, fresh, and sometimes strange ideas.
Does that apply to Arrow Time U? Oh yes.
We play an arrow in Arrow Time U. An arrow that must find its way around
the mazes to the exit location. Not a problem right? The one downside to
Arrow Time U is there is a bar counting down. Players must make it to
the end location (looks like a black hole) before time expires.
What happens when you do not make it to the end of the level before time
expires? Level over, and you can replay it. Or go back to the menu
screen. I wish Arrow Time U had one mode for pure exploration with no
timer, and then one for timed. That way more casual gamers could get
into this home console video game.
There are forty levels in Arrow Time U. If you love amazing graphics
that push a system to its limits, then you probably will not get into
Arrow Time U. It is not the most graphically intense game on the Wii U.
It will test you, challenge you, and make you explore. I replayed most
levels just because I could not find the exit the first time.
The music in Arrow Time U is nice. I enjoy listening to it while phasing
through objects. The phase also has its own bar, and it depletes
quickly. Multiple different levels are open at the same time in case a
level here or there is too hard to beat. Bosses are pretty tough in
Arrow Time U.
