Boom Bounce
SCORE: 72
Clay animation has been around for a long time. Video games,
television shows, movies and more have used clay animation. What about
apps? How many apps have used 100% clay animation? There have been some
here and there. Let us be honest brothers and sisters, clay animation is
not the normal mode of animation.
Boom Bounce is the most recent video game done in the clay animation
style to enter Family Friendly Gaming Universe. It is a 2D side
scrolling action adventure video game. Like a Mario or Sonic game. There
are fifty levels in Boom Bounce. This iOS app costs $2.99.
The controls in Boom Bounce are a button to jump on the right side of
the screen, and two buttons on the left hand side of the screen. The two
buttons on the left hand side of the screen are to go left and right.
They work as well as any touch screen only controllers work on other
apps.
The music in Boom Bounce is serene, happy, and uplifting. This aspect of
Boom Bounce really shines brightly. The graphics are another aspect of
Boom Bounce that shine brightly. The animation is nice, and I could
barely tell this was a clay animation video game.
Boom Bounce is one of those games that would work so much better on the
Nintendo 3DS and/or Playstation Vita. A controller of some form would
make this game a better game play experience. The boss battles every ten
levels is nice, and helps give Boom Bounce a console video game feel.
In a lengthy field of match three video game apps, Boom Bounce stands
apart. Maybe, just maybe Boom Bounce can bring a greater interest in the
iOS platform again. An interest that has slipped and slided due to a
flooded field, and too many repeat pay to play apps. Families pay for
Boom Bounce one time, and enjoy the game as long as they want to.
