Castle Clout 3D

How many
of our millions of readers are familiar with Angry Birds? If you know
about Angry Birds then Castle Clout 3D will be a game you completely
understand. At least the game play elements of this Nintendo 3DS hand
held video game. Minus one important aspect I will get into later in
this review.
Castle Clout 3D is all about knocking down, or hitting (with
projectiles) the enemy soldiers on the castles. Simple right? Well
Castle Clout 3D does not provide a guide line, so it is all guess work.
It is easy to retry any level, but moving the catapults around and going
up and down with them is all guess work.
What does that mean? Castle Clout 3D can be frustrating in certain
levels. If you get stuck early, then you may miss all 150 levels in
Castle Clout 3D. Which could be a real shame after spending the $4.99.
Let alone get the gold on each of the 150 levels.
The music in Castle Clout 3D is majestic and fits the medieval theme.
The graphics also have a dark, gritty edge to them. The death cries of
the soldiers is one of those sounds that will haunt me for weeks. The 3D
effects in Castle Clout 3D are nice. I liked the different layering.
Castle Clout 3D is a decent solid entry on the Nintendo 3DS. I
understand why Castle Clout 3D does not have bright, cheery, and happy
colors. The lack of a guide perplexes me too. If you are the creative
type then Castle Clout 3D lets you create your own castles.
Castle Clout 3D also contains a "Hot Seat" mode that may appeal to
families. This is a neat little multiplayer mode that will pit you
against your family and friends. Can you beat them in Castle Clout 3D?
Or will they knock you down a peg or two?
