Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes

Do you know what I love about Labor Day until Christmas? The biggest releases from the biggest companies usually come in that time frame. Disney Infinity squeaked out a victory over Skylanders last year. Can Disney Interactive continue that trend with Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes?

Time will tell on who winds up being the biggest toy/video game cross over. I love the physical toys, as well as the game coming in on a physical copy. Family Friendly Gaming was provided Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes on the Playstation 3. Multiple power discs were also sent our direction for usage in the toy box.

The Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes box comes with a portal pad (note the one from last year does work with Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes), three characters (Thor, Iron Man, and Black Widow), and two additional discs. Those two additional discs play a tower defense mini game, and a hack and slash mini game.

Leveling up is very important in Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes. Not only will your heroes get more powerful, they will also earn skill points. Skill points can be spent on new skills. These skills will make your life so much easier. Speaking of easier - flying around town is super fast.

Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes improves the storyline from the original Disney Infinity. In fact there is a connected reason for the quests we do. They make sense, and we can see the story slowly unravel. I really appreciate this improvement.

If you are playing single player and die, you can swap your character with another one. If you are playing two characters and die, your friend can revive you. This really helps keep things moving. I did notice some lag here and there, especially when characters dropped in or out.

The original Disney Infinity came with three world from three different franchises. Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes comes with one world and two mini games. So there is a bit less in terms of overall content. Marvel characters are supposed to be able to swap from world to world. We have not been able to verify that as of yet. The story is also shorter in Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes.

The directional button on where to go in missions has been improvement. The Toy Box has also been improved. I appreciate free set kinds of areas to alleviate some of the grunt work. Some missions in Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes require two players to successfully complete. Unless you level up high enough.

I like Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes. It feels more refined, and definitely improved upon the original Disney Infinity. Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes is not as innovative at Disney Infinity. It does take the franchise to the next level. I am very curious to see where the franchise goes from here.
