Driveclub

Sony Computer Entertainment hyped Driveclub as the next great racing video game. WRONG! This home console racing game is average at best. Way below average at worst. It just depends on who you ask. Sony copied Microsoft with the drivatars. I find it interesting Sony mocked the idea in Forza Motorsports 5, and then put it in one of their games. Real classy Sony.

The graphics in Driveclub did not wow me. This is a next gen game. Forza Horizon looks as good, if not better in many instances. Then there is all the crazy damage on the cars in Driveclub. Bump into a wall, and your car gets messed up. Hit a couple of walls, and you look ready for the wreckers yard.

The music in Driveclub is not good. There are also these annoying noises everytime we bump into anything. We are also penalized for hitting other drives and walls. Oh and if you get off the track for three seconds. Driveclub constantly punished players - taking away points needed to level up. Nice way to manufacture replay and make the game last longer.

There are a decent amount of cars in Driveclub. I love how I could unlock them, but then had to be a certain level to use them. Some of the earlier cars are better than what is unlocked later. So what was the point of unlocking them? I have no idea.

Driveclub is very online heavy. As long as you are paying Sony a yearly fee for Playstation Plus. No thanks Sony. Which means the limited single player modes are available. No local multiplayer in Driveclub. What is this the 8-bit days Sony? Even some 8-bit games allowed for multiple local play.

The controls felt like I was driving a brick at first in Driveclub. It did get a little better, but it is really loose. There are also invisible walls that will keep you from going too far off the track. Nice limitation on a next gen game Sony. Then there are the goals to earn the stars to unlock addition races. Some of them are insanely hard. Even early on.

If you made the mistake of buying a Playstation 4, you are probably looking for something to play. Driveclub will only irritate you. In my opinion Driveclub is worth fifteen to twenty dollars at most. Don't spend any more than that on this home console video game. If you do, you are on the losing end.
