F1 2014

Racing games continue to do really well in the video game industry. Do you know why? People enjoy driving fast cars around crazy race tracks with all kinds of curves. Getting first place in a race is one of those things almost everyone enjoys doing. Since most of us are not going to get to do it in real life, video games allow us to experience the thrill of racing for ourselves.

There are plenty of reviewers out there complaining that F1 2014 has been released on the Xbox 360, Personal Computer, and Playstation 3. They complain that this Formula 1 racing franchise should have moved over to the Xbox One, Wii U, and Playstation 4. Not everyone has to play on the latest, greatest, newest machines. There is still plenty of fun to be had on the older video game systems.

F1 2014 is a hard video game. Even on the very easy setting. My idea of very easy, and their idea of very easy are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. I like the drive assist in F1 2014. I hate that it is nearly impossible to catch other cars, let alone pass them. I even tried to cut some corners and F1 2014 punished me for that with penalty time.

I wish F1 2014 would let me change my camera angle while driving. Sitting inside the vehicle and seeing what the driver would see is nice, but I like to change my view for racing games. F1 2014 let me add light rain, or heavy rain. It did not let me add any snow. Which I thought would have been cool to see.

Families can race Grand Prix in F1 2014, and they can have their own racer start his career. If you are willing to put forth the time and effort, you will be rewarded with a deep video game. F1 2014 is not an easy game to get into. Once you do, you will appreciate the various options available.

The lesson that F1 2014 taught me is to be perfect all of the time. I could not slack off for one second while racing. I also had to learn that the computer would do nasty things like spin me out - which cost me twelve positions. The final thing F1 2014 taught me is to follow the rules.
