Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition
SCORE: 72
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition sounds like it would be
a fighting game. One of those ultra violent, beat on your opponent until
they can no longer continue kinds of games. But it is not. Guacamelee!
Super Turbo Championship Edition is a side scrolling 2D action adventure
video game.
There are plenty of the same looking enemies to pummel in Guacamelee!
Super Turbo Championship Edition. Like an old Metroid game. In fact
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition pays homage to certain
older video games from the past. Like which games? Mario, and Metroid
both come to mind.
This downloadable only home console video game is clever. Guacamelee!
Super Turbo Championship Edition is very clever. The levels exhibit an
intelligent design. Players go through levels trying to complete all
aspects of the map. Which reminds me of other well known video games
from the past.
Players earn money for defeating enemies. Some rooms require us to
defeat them all to continue. We get a giant pinata after beating them
all. The money found in Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is
used to purchase upgrades to your character - a luchador.
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition has a definite Mexican
look, sound, and feel to it. Players will shift from the real world to
the dead one. The after life concepts in Guacamelee! Super Turbo
Championship Edition are strange to say the least. Definitely not in
line with the Judeo-Christian belliefs.
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition saves quite frequently
which is nice. I enjoyed most of the power ups in Guacamelee! Super
Turbo Championship Edition. Things like busting through blocks, and wall
jumping. Turning into a chicken was strange. Sort of like the guy who
turns to and from a goat.
Parents will want to be aware of a few aspects of Guacamelee! Super
Turbo Championship Edition. There is sexual inuendo, enticement to lust,
violence, and the teaching in an afterlife belief system. I am surprised
this game did not earn a THIRTEEN and OLDER rating from the ESRB. But
the ESRB has been asleep at the wheel for some years now.
Knowledgeable and/or older gamers will recognize the nods to other
franchises. They will also notice how well put together this game is.
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition points the way to go next,
and there are plenty of secrets to unearth. Guacamelee! Super Turbo
Championship Edition is like a spicy taco, a flavor some enjoy and
others will avoid. It does bring racial and ethnic diversity to the
industry. Now if the industry would become tolerant of Christian video
games - that would be great.
