Hatsune Miku Project DIVA f
SCORE: 65
I remember
when rhythm games were all the rage. Mainly on the Nintendo DS, but some
made it to the Wii. It seemed like every month brought a new musical
dancing game where objects would move around on the screen. Our goal was
to tap or press the right button when the circle (for instance) was
completely inside the other circle.
At some point in recent history those games died off. Maybe there were
too many of them. Maybe they did not sell enough. Maybe families grew
tired of them. Hatsune Miku Project DIVA f has made it to the PS Vita
from the Playstation 3. So maybe rhythm games will make a come back.
Hatsune Miku Project DIVA f is the most difficult rhythm game I have
ever played. And I played this Vita game on the easiest setting it had.
All of the stuff going on visually is part of the issue. The other is
trying to find where the objects are coming from.
Hatsune Miku Project DIVA f is very clever in how the objects enter the
screen. They may come from the right, left, top and bottom. The dancers
in the background with their special effects can also distract the
players. At least they really distracted me.
Players earn points by playing levels. These can be spent on purchasing
additional attire for the dancers - like a bikini. This is where the
enticement to lust comes into play. As well as some of the provocative
dance moves. As far as the lyrics go - well its in Japanese. So I have
no idea what is being said. I will trust what others have said about
that.
Hatsune Miku Project DIVA f is very bright and colorful. At times I
would watch the anime characters, and realistic looking backgrounds.
Which lead to me not passing a level. In fact I failed certain songs
over and over again until I was totally discouraged.
Beating songs (at least early on) in Hatsune Miku Project DIVA f unlock
new songs. Multiple items can be purchased in the game to add new
objects to the dancers. There are a few outfits that are better than the
others. Modesty was not a goal of the designers of this game.
