Hazumi

Hazumi is a Break Out kind of a video game with two major differences. First off we play within a confined space. Second off we can influence the direction of the ball. Which is really cool in these Turnabout kind of levels. I just remembered a third difference. I will get into that in my next little paragraph.

Your little ball in Hazumi looks sort of like a ball bearing. It starts out as a certain color. Red, blue, and green are all great examples. That means your little bouncing friend can make blocks of that exact same color go away. What do you do when there are multiple colors on the screen? Find a block that swaps your color to the color you need.

Hazumi reminds me of apps in the way we progress through levels. We are given no stars up to three stars depending on how fast we beat the levels in Hazumi. Those stars open additional levels later on. Up to a possible of one hundred. The faster you complete a level in Hazumi, the more stars you will earn. Which will give you access to more levels.

The graphics in Hazumi are on the small side. I played Hazumi on my Nintendo 2DS so I can not speak to the 3D effects. I have to play on a 2DS since the 3D effects on the 3DS give me migraines. Nintendo fails on picking up the tab for the damage they cause. So playing on the 2DS makes medical sense.

Hazumi has nice sounds. The most impressive part of Hazumi is the game play. This is one clever puzzle game. I could not always impact the ball as much as I would have liked. I did find tricks to beating certain levels. I also found ways to avoid the obstacles that destroyed my ball.

Hazumi is a fun little puzzle game that is provided in the download only format. Families will need an Internet connection, and account with Nintendo. Hazumi is only eighty blocks so it is a quick download. If you play downloadable only video games on the 3DS/2DS you should check out Hazumi.
