Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop
SCORE: 78
Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop is a time
management game on the iPhone/iPod Touch, and iPad. The iPad version of
Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop has a HD at the end of the game name and it costs
two dollars more ($3.99 for iPad, and $1.99 for iPhone).
Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop starts out giving families a choice. Play normal
mode or expert. I recommend you start with the normal mode. It will be
easy to learn the game, and develop strategies to deal with its nuances.
Plus it will be better for your sanity.
I noticed right off that there is a woman showing off some cleavage in
Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop. Not terrible, but definitely noticeable. Men
with enticement to lust issues may want to avoid the title screen of
Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop on iOS.
Like so many other time management games, Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop starts
us out with a comic strip. This tells the story. This is to motivate us
to do our best with this coffee shop. There was no pinch and zoom. Wow
those words are really tiny. I found no pinch and zoom feature at all
while playing Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop.
The music in Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop is nice and relaxing. Which you will
need with all those demanding customers. They always want massive
amounts of something and we can only do so much at a time. The graphics
have a neat look to them. I like the look of the shop, furniture, and
customers.
The design layout of Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop needs some help. The tea and
espresso machines are too close. I hit one instead of the other way too
often. A customer and chocolate syrup are also too close. Again the
wrong one registered and time was lost. Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop grades
you on the time you fulfill orders. So this was frustrating. What made
things worse was tapping the cupcake stand five times before it gave me
a cupcake.
Another issue I have with Jo’s Dream Coffee Shop is the trash can. I
made a mistake early in the game. I confused a tea order with an
espresso order. I could not find where to dump the item. Jo’s Dream
Coffee Shop would not let me pick up anything else. I eventually did
find the trash can - after the customer was angry at me.
Players do specific tasks to earn points to level up in Jo’s Dream
Coffee Shop. Playing levels only earns money. Certain items can only be
purchased/upgrades at certain levels. There are IAP so you can skip some
of this. After paying for the app, its hard to justify paying even more
money.
