I love pet games. Not just because the Family Friendly Gaming logo, and scores appear on the boxes of some of the best pet games on the market at retail. Also because it is so nice to take care of animals, and to help them improve their little lives. Me & My Pets 3D is one such downloadable game on the Nintendo 3DS.

If you have played some of the Treva Entertainment video games from the past on the Nintendo 3DS then you know what to expect on the main area screens. Me & My Pets 3D has a small, old PC look to its graphics. That is until you get into the mini games. This is where all the horsepower went to. Apologies for the pun.

Me & My Pets 3D is a game geared towards, and aimed at young girls. Any reviewer worth anything has to be able to acknowledge the target audience, and then determine if it reaches the target audience. In my opinion Me & My Pets 3D does a good job of reaching that target audience.

I let some kids try to play Me & My Pets 3D and they were immediately stumped. They could not figure out what to do. Me & My Pets 3D does not provide a tutorial to point children in the right direction. There is a task listing that can be found in the menus. From there the child must read, and figure out how to perform them. I wish Me & My Pets 3D would take kids through the first couple of tasks and teach them how to play the game.

The mini games in Me & My Pets 3D range. Some are fun, and some drag on way too long. The music in Me & My Pets 3D is pleasant, and fits this hand held video game. The price of Me & My Pets 3D is a bit high for a download only title. I can find 3DS games (physical copies) cheaper in stores.

When compared to games like Playstation Vita Pets, Me & My Pets 3D feels lacking. It is a definite opportunity for this franchise to grow and improve. BTW is that proper grammar? The name of this 3DS game. The decision to buy or not is in your hands.
