NBA 2K15
SCORE: 68
Family Friendly Gaming rented NBA 2K15 on the Playstation 3 for this
review. Even though Family Friendly Gaming spent hundreds of dollars
publishing coverage for this game, the PR firm was unable to find a copy
to send us for review. They did not care about the millions in Family
Friendly Gaming Nation.
NBA 2K15 does not move things forward in my opinion. In fact NBA 2K15
takes a step backwards from previous years. The loading times are
insanely long. The game wants to constantly use up bandwidth to connect
online. I miss plugging in a disc and it works without wanting to
connect to any servers.
The music in NBA 2K15 contains multiple songs with highly offensive
lyrics. These songs play on the menu screens. After going through
multiple menus I found where I could turn off the offensive songs one at
a time. I can't believe 2K Sports is continuing to go backwards in this
area. Why can't they find songs that are safe for families?
There are plenty of teams in NBA 2K15. Including older teams like the
championship Seattle SuperSonics. Which I always play. Even though some
current teams were ranked higher than them, I was able to demolish them
since I know who was good on the SuperSonics team.
There are some strange and odd glitches in NBA 2K15. I would pass
inbounds sometimes and the computer would decide to throw it past
everyone overbounds on the other side of the court. Then there are
questionable fouls, and fouls that are not called. It makes for a really
confusing game.
The players faces look good. The fans are another story. The fans in the
stands look blurry. The cheerleaders are back dancing around hardly
wearing anything. The comments by the announcers are not always
accurate. I think we sports gamers have gotten used to that by now
though.
The presentation seems lacking this year. Probably those insanely long
loading times, and constantly long attempts to connect to their servers.
The Sprint advertisements started to annoy me. They should pay me to see
those advertisements.
There you have it, NBA 2K15 is a step backwards. I would pass on buying
this game unless you can find it for twenty dollars or less. Maybe
Visual Concepts will step up their game next year. Or maybe NBA Live 15
will dunk right over NBA 2K15.
