Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark is going to thrill some, and offend others. This adaptation of the Biblical story takes quite a few liberties. There is no real way (on this side of eternity) knowing if some of these things happened. Noah's Ark took modern day attitudes and relationships and put them into the story.

The representation of God and an angel is something that can also ignite a firestorm of controversy. I am not clear if the creators of Noah's Ark are trying to be mocking, or just trying to add humor where ever they could. The same can be said for many of the animals in Noah's Ark.

Noah is honored and revered in Noah's Ark. He frees slaves, thinks of others, is totally pro family, and does the right thing whenever it presents itself. There are evil humans who make their way onto the ark before being dropped off in the South Pole with a few animals. Like I said they took quite a few liberties in this eighty-two minute long animated movie.

Noah's sons, son's wives, and even his own wife are shown in a much worse light. The king of the beasts - the lion is shown as a selfish party boy. The woman behind him is the one who does all the work, and keeps things going. Even she can not turn the new lion king around before there is an animal coup.

One of the strangest things in Noah's Ark is how human the animals are made to look. In many ways Noah's Ark shows animals as being better than humans. With the humans bickering, and fighting. The animal separation is between predators and prey.

There is some mild violence, and gross humor in Noah's Ark. The ark itself does not look as we have known it to look. The art work is interesting. Plenty of talk about a new perfect world - we see how that turned out. People are routinely returning to their evil ways. There are no bonus features on this disc.
