Parking Star 3D

Parking is one of those skills many drivers take for granted. Maybe because they have done it for so many years, or in most cases decades. It may seem odd to make a game about parking. However Parking Star 3D gives kids the idea of how dangerous parking can be. Especially when you are going too fast.

Parking Star 3D contains five different city levels. They are Beijing, Dubai, Paris, Tokyo and New York. There are forty different map levels in Parking Star 3D. Families can choose from four different vehicles that control differently, and seven different paint jobs.

I like the idea of parking cars. My excitement level for Parking Star 3D was really high. My anticipation was up on the ceiling as I started to play it. I pressed some buttons here and there and could not get the car to move. Then I looked at the touch screen and my heart sank.

Parking Star 3D has a steering wheel that must be turned on the bottom screen. Press up on the 'D' pad to go forward. Press down on the D-pad to go backwards. If this sounds clunky to you - you would be right on base. By the way, you can press 'X' to go forward, and 'B' to go backwards. Spinning that wheel on touch screen is what hurts this hand held video game.

Parking Star 3D is a downloadable only title that sells for $1.99. The amount of content is okay for the price. The music is also okay. The graphics are a little below other Nintendo 3DS games. The overhead view is fine. The controls are what kills Parking Star 3D.

The difficulty in this game is also up there. I had to step it up to an all new level. Parking Star 3D allows for players to hit two objects before they lose a level. There is also a timer that will make you lose a level. Cars have to face the right direction in the parking space. The edge of the screen is an object you can hit. The lesson I learned from Parking Star 3D is to respect the rights of other people's property.
