Petz Beach

I am so pleased to see the Petz franchise make a comeback. From Dogz to Horsez there were plenty of wonderful Petz games over the years. You might have even seen the Family Friendly Gaming review referenced on the cover art of Hamsterz Life on the Nintendo DS. Petz Beach is out on the Nintendo 3DS, and families are extremely excited.

Families need to go through the entire tutorial in Petz Beach before they can save. It took me a few tries to realize that. Since I may play for five minutes here or there. I had to devote enough time in the beginning to keep my game moving forward.

Petz Beach is pretty dog heavy. There are other animals in Petz Beach, but the majority of the time we deal with dogs. Petz Beach is a mix between Dogz and Animal Crossing in my professional opinion. We are a part of a town. We do quests for townspeople. We decorate our dog and our house.

The music in Petz Beach is fantastic. I loved listening to Petz Beach while playing it. It is soothing, relaxing, and encouraged me to complete quests. The graphics in Petz Beach are a bit dull and washed out. The animals look great, but the town is lacking.

Families can walk their animal in a couple of ways. There is a close up view where the leash is held. There is a map view where the stylus can be used. My favorite is using the circle joystick on the map view. This got me places quickly. Which helped with the flow. Sniffing for things like seashells takes forever.

Petz Beach is a great addition to the Petz franchise. It is a fun game that families can enjoy. There are plenty of items to purchase. Petz Beach also contains skills that can be trained. Again coins are needed. These coins are easily attainable within the game thanks to a variety of quests. I hope to see sequels to Petz Beach in the future.
