Pirate Fairy

I thought I was going to dislike Pirate Fairy on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. I expected this seventy-eight minute long movie to glorify those evil, vile, and wicked criminals known as pirates. Plenty of Hollywood likes to celebrate the bad, and attack the good.

I am happy to report that Pirate Fairy does not glorify the pirates. They are the bad guys. Their greed, anger, hatred, and deception are shown quite well in the Pirate Fairy. Families can enjoy this fairy movie knowing it is a good versus evil storyline.

Zarina is an inquisitive dust fairy. She wants to understand everything there is to know about pixie dust. She knows the blue pixie dust makes the the yellow pixie dust expand, and grow many times over. She wonders if there can be other colors of pixie dust, and what they may do.

Predictably Zarina is forbidden to mess around with the pixie dust. She does not listen of course, and disobeys. She makes a break through and then has an accident that harms the entire village. She leaves since she is no longer wanted in their community.

Zarina eventually comes back a year later. She has hooked up with pirates. One of them we will know in the Peter Pan movie. She steals the blue pixie dust, and works with the pirates to help their ship fly. That way she can continue her work and be around those that truly appreciate her. Or so she thinks.

The other main character fairies go after Zarina after the theft of the blue pixie dust. The rest of the town is asleep. Zarina switches their talents on them, and they have to learn to be different kinds of fairies. The crocodile from Peter Pan also makes an appearance in Pirate Fairy.

Pirate Fairy brings us much closer to Peter Pan. In fact Peter and the Lost Boys are all we are really missing. I love how Zarina is welcomed back to her village after the whole ordeal. I also appreciate fairies being honest about mistakes and coming clean.
