Power Rangers Zeo Volume 2
SCORE: 73
I find the
Power Rangers interesting for a couple of reasons. The behind the scenes
activity as well as how the show morphs in different materials. The
background politics, greed, and disputes is strange for a children's
show. I suppose when something makes so much money it is bound to
happen.
Power Rangers Zeo Volume 2 contains the final twenty-five episodes of
the show. The cast stays pretty constant. Billy does leave right near
the end. Jason comes back and takes over the role of the gold ranger for
quite a bit of these episodes. He leaves in the last episode.
Power Rangers Zeo Volume 2 contains a fair amount of campy martial arts
fighting, weapons fighting, giant robots fighting, and explosions. The
characters play their super hero roles adequately. Some are better than
others. Some are more likeable than others. Certain characters get more
screen time too.
I liked the computerized look to the Power Rangers suiting up. The
lasers and faster robot battles was nice to see. The whole Christmas
episode was interesting. The show tried to give equal time to multiple
faiths and beliefs. Some were more represented than others.
Angel Grove is constantly under attack in Power Rangers Zeo Volume 2.
The bad guys try all kinds of different gimmicks to win. They pollute,
brain wash, entice with gold, and more. Different segments of bad guys
interfere with one another. Some of them even help the Power Rangers
defeat the other group.
Power Rangers Zeo Volume 2 tries to throw a monkey wrench into the works
in a variety of different ways. I liked seeing different kinds of
episodes. The standard fight the little bad guys, fighting a strong bad
guy, defeat him, have him grow large, and defeat him with giant robots
gets old.
Bulk and Skully feel pointless in Power Rangers Zeo Volume 2. They got
one good episode where they were allowed to fight the bad guys. They
beat them amazingly well. It was a stand out moment for the two who are
generally only there for attempts at comic relief.
