Prince Killian and the Holy Grail

I put the DVD disc of Prince Killian and the Holy Grail into my DVD player. I got to the main menu screen and selected play the movie. Some language other that English met me with the words in English on the bottom of the screen. After a few minutes I identified it as Spanish. Pretty proud of myself for figuring that out. Obviously a couple of years of Spanish in high school were not wasted after all. I finally found a use for it.

I went back to the menu screen and in the options found where I could change the language to English. AWESOME! Now the mouths and the words do not always match, but hey beggars can't be choosers eh? Prince Killian and the Holy Grail is a foreign film. And thanks to watching it I feel so cultured.

Prince Killian and the Holy Grail is set in the year of our Lord 1291. Yeah a long time ago. Back in the Crusades. When European monarchs were sending knights to try and reclaim the Holy Land. It was stolen by the Muslims, and the Christians were trying to get it back. I find it funny when Muslims complain about the Jews taking Isreal back from them. They complain it was stolen from them. Well you stole it first buddy.

While a knight helps free Christian prisoners he finds an old man who has the Holy Grail. The old man sees a mark on this knights neck, and gives him the Holy Grail. From there things get really strange. They go back to Spain, run across evil characters who use dark magic. They want the grail for a nasty ceremony.

The action in Prince Killian and the Holy Grail is pretty campy. Way too often I questioned the reality of what was going on. They are freeing all these prisoners, and then some enemy soldiers to fight. Run down a dark hallway and find some more enemies to fight. Who just happen to vanish instead of killing you. All related to the knights neck mark.

Prince Killian and the Holy Grail does eventually explain the knights background. I won't spoil it for you. It is predictable though - since he is the hero and all. Prince Killian and the Holy Grail contains violence, blood, death, enticement to lust, and lack of clothing in various parts. If rated I expect a PG-13.

At its heart Prince Killian and the Holy Grail is a good versus evil story. It may not flow very well, and was obviously low budget. The timing of events is horrible. Stereotypical characters are found throughout this adventure that reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons. Prince Killian and the Holy Grail is corny - maybe you are looking for a corny film.
