Sesame Street Alphabet Songs
SCORE: 73
Sesame Street Alphabet Songs is a DVD where children can learn the
alphabet. There are songs that teach the entire alphabet, and each
letter has its own song. There are a variety of different puppets, and
humans that are shown throughout this 129 minute long DVD.
When we talk Sesame Street, I understand it can mean different things to
different people. There are numerous controversies that have surrounded
this Big Bird run street. Sesame Street has become polarized, divisive,
and in some places offensive.
One of the topics I expect to receive an email about is the money made
from Sesame Street Alphabet Songs. After all tax payer dollars were
given to PBS to publish, produce, and air the content found on this DVD.
Are tax payers being provided compensation from the profits? I can tell
you Family Friendly Gaming was not provided any money for all of the
work associated with reviewing this product.
Many of the songs in Sesame Street Alphabet Songs are parodies of well
known songs. Which is nice if you like those songs. I found a few of
them to be annoying. Like finger nails on a chalk board. I felt the same
way about every letter having to be sounded out. I know it is good for
kids to learn. Not as much for an adult watching.
Not only has Sesame Street become polarizing, some of the "celebrities"
are as well. Divisive groups like the Dixie Chicks are in Sesame Street
Alphabet Songs. I know how they have offended so many people over the
years with their mean, nasty, and hate filled comments.
Thankfully Sesame Street Alphabet Songs does not touch on any of the
controversial topics. If they did I missed it while enjoying all the
alphabet songs. Part of the 129 minutes of content on Sesame Street
Alphabet Songs is a full length video of Learning Letters with Elmo.
