Shape Up

I love exercise video games. They are one of the few kinds of video games that help the tarnished image of the video game industry. I am always excited to play and review an exercise game. They always last longer than anything else we review here at Family Friendly Gaming.

Shape Up on the Xbox One is an exercise game. It tried to disguise the exercise with all kinds of fun images and activities. So we are cross body punching up, middle, and using our knees to hit low. We move our arms out to hit ice blocks. All of this is exercise. It is done in a fun way that reach gamers who would normally avoid an exercise video game.

Competition is the core of Shape Up. Whether it is online, with a computer controlled coach, or one other person in your living room. The goal in Shape Up is to do the best. Families can even compete against their best score to see if they can improve.

Expect to be out of breath after some of the exercises in Shape Up. I found myself winded multiple times while playing Shape Up on the Xbox One. Which reminds me, a Kinect sensor is needed to play this home console exercise video game. Please keep enough room between players and furniture.

Many of the players in Shape Up wear exercise attire. If seeing a little skin bothers you, then you will want to pass on Shape Up. There is also some bad language, and violence in this Xbox One video game. The violence is meant to be comical.

I like Shape Up. It is a cross between an exercise work out, and a video game. Families can use Shape Up to improve their lives. Please make sure you do not over do it playing Shape Up. Liquids like water, and rest are very important to avoid a health problem.
