Sofia the First The Floating Palace
SCORE: 77
Sofia the
First is back on a new DVD - Sofia the First The Floating Palace. It has
a full length episode and then three shorter episodes. The total run
time of Sofia the First The Floating Palace is 118 minutes. The focus of
the main episode is an adventure involving mermaids.
Magic runs deep in Sofia the First The Floating Palace. In fact Sofia's
amulet lets her change into a mermaid. Ariel even makes a short
appearance to help out Sofia. The final episode on Sofia the First The
Floating Palace involves the fairies and all kinds of magic spells.
The three additional episodes on Sofia the First The Floating Palace are
Tri-Kingdom Picnic, Finding Clover, and Make Way for Miss Nettle. The
singing on Sofia the First The Floating Palace is really good. Kids will
enjoy multiple songs on this DVD. Too bad there was not a sing-a-long
bonus feature.
I noticed a few oddities in Sofia the First The Floating Palace.
Tri-Kingdom Picnic is very anti-competition, fail on purpose to make
others feel better, don't try your hardest, and then congratulate them
after you gave them the victory. The opposite of how America was built
and became great.
James was a bit of a poor sport in the Tri-Kingdom Picnic. The others
were worse by taking their ball and going home. They quit because they
were not having fun. That is a bad example they set. I know so many
better ways that could have been handled. More mature ways.
Finding Clover is all about being too busy and neglecting your friends.
Sofia even steals Clover from a magician. She provided no compensation
for the theft. She ruined a man's livelihood because she missed her
friend. She showed herself to be selfish throughout that entire episode.
In Make
Way For Miss Nettle we see the children giving in to an evil character.
In other words appeasement - which never works. I wish Sofia the First
The Floating Palace had focused more on not giving in to the evil
characters. Do what is right no matter what it costs you.
Sofia the First The Floating Palace focuses on everyone listening to one
another, getting along, being nice, and considerate of others. Girls
will appreciate Sofia the First The Floating Palace way more than boys.
In fact one of my boys said Sofia the First The Floating Palace is
anti-male.
