Sportsball
SCORE: 72
Have you ever wanted to turn the old Joust video game into a sport?
TOO DX did. They came up with Sportsball on the Wii U. This home console
downloadable only video game lets us fly around on birds with lances.
But wait that is not all. Sportsball also lets us knock balls into
goals.
Yes you guessed it. Sportsball is Joust with goals. There are a variety
of different game play modes in Sportsball. We can play Sportsball in
Duel, Sportsball Basic, Sportsball Pro, Custom, Explosive Chaos,
Rallyball Basic, Sportsbrawl Pro, and Sportsbrawl Bout.
Graphically Sportsball is very colorful. We play on different teams that
are different colors. Sportsball also lets us play in ten different
stadiums. Each has their own theme, and looks different. Each of the
teams have different stats and heights.
The height of the bird, rider, and lance are very important. You may be
better on the ceiling, or on the floor. Knowing the advantages and
disadvantages of the various teams will morph your game play style. What
if you don't change? Then you will lose.
Sportsball has a song that plays which annoyed me after a few minutes. I
found that the music can be turned to zero in the options menu. I did
that. Sorry to the musician who did that song - it hurt my brain. I am
thankful TOO DX let me turn off that song.
Families can get very competitive playing Sportsball. The goal is to
win. I personally like Explosive Chaos. I did lose my bird during that
mode though. There are plenty of hours of replay in this $9.99
downloadable only Wii U home console video game.
