Super Toy Cars
SCORE: 78
Micro Machine Hot Wheels Matchbox Car video games have been done
before in the video game industry. To a varying degree of success I
might add. Some have been good and some have been not so good. I am
given the opportunity to judge Super Toy Cars. I am being given the
authority to determine where this game lands on the scale of time.
Visually Super Toy Cars looks really good. The tracks, cars, and visual
effects are all there. I loved the rain, and the shine off some of the
surfaces in Super Toy Cars. There are strange weapons like the 8-ball
from pool. There are also missiles and mines in Super Toy Cars.
The music in Super Toy Cars is generally very good as well. I got more
into some songs than others. I made a note while playing Super Toy Cars:
"good music." Every so often I went to write that same comment again. So
you know the music impressed me.
My first impression of the controls in Super Toy Cars is they are
touchy. Like trying to approach the topic of a diet to an extremely
overweight person. Then I earned enough money to purchase another car. I
immediately noticed a difference. Vehicles can also be upgraded in Super
Toy Cars.
There are eight episodes in Super Toy Cars. Each episode has six races
in it. That brings us to a grand total of forty-eight. There are sixteen
vehicles, twelve tracks, and five different kinds of races we are in.
The most annoying is the Evade. We have to evade mines while the person
in last place is eliminated every fifteen seconds.
There is violence in Super Toy Cars. We launch weapons at a variety of
different vehicles. I never figured out how to launch the weapons behind
me. Which was not very useful when I was in first place. The track
editor is what can help Super Toy Cars in terms of replay.
The verdict is Super Toy Cars is a solid racing title. The computer AI
is a bit on the aggressive side. Especially when it comes to mines. They
love to knock you into them. Almost every time I got stuck, Super Toy
Cars would respawn me quickly right back on the track facing the right
direction.
